SCAA Board of Directors

Serving on the SCAA Board of Directors is a voluntary position and involves supporting the multifamily housing industry through the growth of the Association. Service includes participation in Board Meetings, attending association meetings and events, participating as a committee member, encouraging participation in membership activities, and promoting new membership, among other duties.

Member engagement is critical to the success of the association, and the Board relies upon your recommendations for strong candidates.

For the 2025 Board of Directors, the Nominating Committee is seeking nominees for vacant positions. The Committee will meet after August 30, 2024, to develop the final slate of candidates for election.

Please review the application information and qualification requirements outlined below. SCAA members in good standing that meet the qualifications are eligible to be considered for any open Board position. All positions are currently open for nomination. All candidates selected to serve by the Nominating Committee will be slated for approval by the membership in October.

Qualifications

You must be employed by an SCAA member in good standing. Officer positions should have previous Board experience.

Involvement

As an SCAA Board Member, you will be required to serve on a committee and participate in SCAA events. The SCAA bylaws also call for the Board to meet a minimum of 4 times per year, and it is expected that Board Members will not miss consecutive meetings or more than 2 per year.

Nomination Process

The Nominating Committee encourages SCAA members to recommend qualified individuals for nomination to elective offices. This is an anonymous process and self-nominations are welcomed and encouraged!

Directors-

  • Directors shall control and manage the property and assets of the SCAA, the appropriation of funds, and shall authorize all contracts and expenditures of the SCAA. Directors are elected by the membership if they continue to remain members in good standing. Four (4) of the ten (10) directors shall be Associate/Supplier members. These Associate members shall have voting rights and may not ascend or attain higher office other than the Associate Vice President.
